Husband booked in dowry harassment case

SHAHKOT 28 AUGUST 

 The Shahkot police have booked Ravi Kumar   son of Daljit Singh a resident of Pati Akal Pur, Malsian village in a dowry harassment case.

Monika, daughter of Balwindar Kumar a resident of the same locality, had filed a complaint with the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband had been harassing her and demanding more dowry since her marriage.

Investigating Officer Angrej Singh said a case under section 85 (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty)316(2) (criminal breach of trust) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
