Three miscreants booked for assaulting villager

The Mehat Pur police have booked three miscreants for assaulting a villager.

Investigating officer (IO) Indar Mohan said that the accused have been identified as Gopal, Karanjit Singh and Rohit, all residents of Maherru village.

Navraj a resident of Barra Salam village, complained to the police that the accused assaulted him on October 23 evening at Maherru village and threatened him with dire consequences.

IO said a case under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 324(4) (mischief), and 3(5)(committing crime with common intention) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
