Husband among two booked for murdering wife

The Lohian Khas police have booked a husband of a woman and his mother on charges of murdering his wife.

Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhjindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, son of Lakhwindar Singh, a resident of Gatti Rai Pur village under Lohian Khas police station, and his mother, Charanjit Kaur.

Santokh Singh a resident of Guru Nanak Colony, Street No. 7, Amritsar, complained to Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that his daughter Harjindar Kaur was married to the accused Gurpreet Singh, who, along with his mother and other family members, murdered his daughter.

SHO said that SSP marked an inquiry to the Superintendent of Police (detective) whose report was verified by the district attorney, and SSP ordered registration of a case against the accused.

SHO said a case under sections 302 (murder) and

34 (committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
