Retired police employee arrested for framing incorrect document.

The Mehat Pur police have arrested a retired police employee for framing an incorrect document and false evidence.

Investigating officer (IO) Major Singh said that the accused has been identified as retired assistant sub-inspector Amrik Lal, son of Chain Ram, a resident of Indianna Kalaske village under Goraya police station.

IO said the accused ASI was handed over for investigation in FIR no 35/2026 registered in Mehat Pur police station, and during investigation he verified the ownership of a motorcycle and recorded a statement purportedly under Section 180 of BNSS of the owner, who was already dead and could not have been physically present before the investigating officer, Amrik Lal, who retired on 30/6/2026.

IO said that SP Investigation conducted an inquiry in this case and recommended a case against the retired employee, and Jalandhar (rural) SSP ordered registration of a case under sections 201(public servant recording incorrect document to cause injury) and 229(1) (false evidence) of the BNS, which was registered on September 9, .2026 against Amrik Lal.
