Two miscreants booked for assaulting journalist

The Nurmahal police have booked two miscreants for assaulting a journalist.

Investigating officer (IO) Subash Chandar said that the accused have been identified as Sukhwindar Kumar alias Shishu son of Jagan Nath and Harjindar Kumar alias Kaka son of Paramjit, residents of Bhandal Himmat village.

Narinder Kumar, reporter of a leading Hindi Daily and resident of Bhandal Himmat, complained to the police that he was going to attend his office in Nurmahal on his scooter on the morning of October 26 when the accused waylaid and attacked him with weapons and injured and threatened him with dire consequences.

IO said a case under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 324(4) (mischief), and 3(5)(committing crime with common intention) of the BNS has been registered against the accused, and raids are being conducted to arrest them.
