Woman among 11 farmers booked for burning paddy stubble

 The Lohian Khas police have booked 11 farmers, including a woman, on the charge of burning paddy stubble fields.

Investigating Officer (IO) Gurpreet Singh said that the accused have been identified as

 Sarabjit Singh son of Salwindar Singh a resident of Mehraj Wala village, his wife Harjindar Kaur and brother Manjit Singh, Tarsem Singh son of Dalip Singh of the same village, his brothers Nirwair Singh and Mukhtiar Singh and Piara Singh son of Hari Singh of the same village, his brothers Bhajan Singh, Kulwant Singh and Surindar Singh and Lovpreet Singh .

IO said that the accused set fire to their paddy stubble fields and violated government order in this regard and polluted the atmosphere.

IO said a case under section 223(disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
