Husband booked in dowry harassment case

The Nurmahal police have booked Gurwindar  Singh a resident of Dhaliwal village under Nakodar Sadar police station in a dowry harassment case.

Harnidar Kaur, daughter of Makhann Singh  a resident of Sagar Pur village, had filed a complaint to the Senior Superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband had been harassing her and demanding more dowry since her marriage.

  Investigating Officer Sukhwindar Singh said a case under section 85 (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 316(2)(criminal breach of trust) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
