Couple among three booked for fraud and conspiracy

The Nakodar City police have charged three persons, including a couple, on charges of committing fraud and criminal conspiracy.

Investigating officer (IO) Davindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Paramjit Singh son of Gurmail Singh a resident of Rawal village in Kapurthala, his wife Kulbir Kaur, and Samson Masih a resident of Basti Peer Daad, Jalandhar.

Rupindar Kaur, daughter of Baldev Singh, a resident of Kanganna village in Shahkot, complained to the Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of policed (SSP) that Paramjit Singh, who is her brother-in-law (jija )  along with other accused, prepared a forged affidavit and other documents in her name to get a divorce from the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Canada.

IO said a case under sections 61(2) (criminal conspiracy )204(personating a public servant) 340(2) (using as genuine a forged document )319(2)(cheating by personation) 318(4),336(2)336(3) 336,337(cheating and fraud) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
