Husband booked in dowry harassment case

NAKODAR 30 AUGUST 

 The Nakodar Sadar police have booked Balwindar Kumar   son of Hukam Singh a resident of Mehtan village in Phagwara in a dowry harassment case.

Sonia daughter of Subash Chandar a resident of Kang Sahibu village, had filed a complaint with the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband had been harassing her and demanding more dowry since her marriage.

Investigating Officer Jiwan Singh said a case under section 85 (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty)316(2) (criminal breach of trust) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
