Husband booked in dowry harassment case

SHAHKOT 23 AUGUST 

 The Shahkot police have booked Jaspreet Singh son of Balwindar Singh a resident of Badshah Pur village   in a dowry harassment case.

Rannjit Singh a resident of Modal Town Shahkot had filed a complaint with the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that his son- in -law had been harassing his daughter and demanding more dowry since her marriage.

Investigating Officer Kashmir Singh said a case under section 85 (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 316 (criminal breach of trust) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
