Couple arrested for assaulting co-villager woman

NURMAHAL 16 AUGUST 

The Bilga police have arrested a couple on the charge of assaulting a co-villager woman.

Investigating officer (IO) Jaswindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Chaman Lal, son of Darshan Lal a resident of Aujla village, and his wife, Paramjit alias Pammi.

 Kaushalaya , wife of Dev Raj, a resident of the same village, had complained to the police that the accused were discharging sewerage water from their house into the foundations of her house and fought with her on this issue and assaulted her and seriously injured her.

IO said that a case under sections 115(2) and 117(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the BNS was registered against the accused and section 238(causing disappearance of evidence or false information to screen offender) in the FIR
