Village miscreant arrested for murder 

NAKODAR 27 JULY 
The Mehat Pur police have arrested a miscreant on the charge of murder.

Station House Officer (SHO) Baljindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Balwant Singh son of Kahan Singh a resident of Bute Dian Chhana village and their six unidentified accomplices.

Amar Kaur wife of Mohindar Singh sarpanch of the same village had complained to the police that the accused waylaid her and husband and attacked them with sharp edged weapons seriously injured and threatened to kill them who died during treatment.

SHO said a case under sections109(attempt to murder) 326 (wrongful restraint )115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) 351(2) (criminal conspiracy) 191(3) ,190(rioting with dangerous weapons) of the BNS was registered against the accused in February 28 2026 and added sections 103 (murder) and 238 (casing disappearance of evidence ) in the FIR
