Unidentified miscreant booked for cheating Shahkot woman of Rs 11.59 Lakhs

SHAHKOT/ JALANDHAR 1 JULY 

 The Cyber Crime police station of Jalandhar (rural) police have booked an unidentified miscreant on the charge of cheating a Shahkot woman of Rs 11.59 Lakhs

Sudha Ranni, wife of Satvir a resident of Mohalla Kartar Nagar, Shahkot, complained to Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that an unidentified accused fraudulently withdrew Rs 11.59 lakhs from February 2022 to June 2026 from her account by Aadhar Enabled Payment System and cheated her.

Investigating Officer (IO) Harbir Singh that SSP ordered an inquiry and ordered SHO Cyber Crime police station to register a case and investigate.

IO said a case under sections 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 319(2) (cheating by personation) of the BNS has been registered against unidentified accused.
