Under trial escapes from police custody in Nakodar court complex

NAKODAR 26 JUNE 

An under-trial arrested under the NDPS Act on Saturday escaped from police custody in court complex while being taken to judicial custody.

Investigating Officer (IO) Amrik Lal said that the accused has been identified as Sahil son of Som Nath a resident of Umre Wal Billa village under Mehat Pur police station.

IO said that the accused was arrested on June 23 under NDPS Act by Mehat Pur police and was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Mehma Bhullar who has ordered to send  the accused to judicial custody.

IO said when he was being taken to judicial custody the accused attacked the police party and fled away with handcuffs

 

 

 

 

IO  said that a case under sections 262(Resistance or obstruction to lawful by a person to his lawful apprehension ) 132 ( Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty )221( obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions ) and 121 ( voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty ) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and

a manhunt has been launched to arrest absconding accused.
