Wheat procurement misses target in Nakodar

 NAKODAR 7 MAY 

 The total purchase of wheat grain by the state government agencies from farmers on Tuesday  was  4.00673 lakhs quintals which is less than fixed target of 4,45810 lakhs quintals in grain markets under the jurisdiction of Nakodar committee.

Committee secretary Karamjit Singh said this purchase is less than compared to last year’s purchase with the poor wheat crop.

He said that that average per acre yield have decreased from 23 -25 quintals last year to 16-18 quintal this year.
