Wheat procurement misses target in Mehat Pur

The total purchase of wheat grain by the state government agencies from farmers on Saturday reached 3.38777 lakhs quintals which is less than fixed target of 3.51651 quintals in grain markets under the jurisdiction of Mehat Pur committee.

Committee secretary Tejindar Kumar said this purchase is less than 3 percent compared to last year’s purchase with the poor wheat crop.

He said that that average per acre yield have decreased from 23 -25 quintals last year to 16-18 quintal this year.
