Rs 2 Crore Extortion case; second gangster arrested

NAKODAR 29 MARCH 

The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested second gangsters on charges of extortion.

Station House Officer (SHO) Dilbag Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jashan Preet  Singh, son of Amarjit Singh, resident of Dharam Kot village under Nawan Shahar police SBS Nagar.

The victim has complained to the police that the accused and his accomplice has demanded Rs 2 crores from her and threatened to kill her in case of failure to pay the money.

SHO said a case under sections 308(5) (extortion by putting any person in fear of death or of grievous hurt), and 3(5) (committing crime with common intention) of the BNS was registered against the accused on March 21 and had arrested his accomplice Tirath Singh, son of Balwinder Singh, resident of Bahadar Pur village under Bilga station.
