Fourteen booked for attempting to murder, firing  

NAKODAR 20 MARCH 

 The Mehat Pur police have booked fourteen persons on charges of attempting to murder and firing.

Investigating officer (IO) Puranr Singh said that the accused have been identified as Dilbag Singh, Ashwani Kumar,Jagdish Singh, Baljit Singh all residents of Vehran village, Kamal of Rai Pur Arayian,Raju of Bute Dian Chhana village, Jagga,Manish,Jaswant Singh all residents of Dharme Dian Chhana village and their many other accomplices.

Gurpreet Singh a resident of Vehran village complained to the police that the accused waylaid him and fired at him with intention to kill and barged into his house and attacked him with sharp edged weapons   and seriously injured and threatened him with dire consequences.

IO said that a case under sections 109(attempt to murder)351(2) (criminal intimidation 333(housebreaking after preparation for hurt, assault) 324(4) (mischief) and 191(3) and 190 rioting) of the BNS and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act    has been registered against the accused and their twenty unidentified accomplices. IO said an empty cartridge and two live cartridges were recovered from the spot.
