Villager arrested for gambling

NURMAHAL 21 OCTOBER 

 The Nurmahal police have arrested a villager on charges of gambling.

Investigating officer (IO)Jai Gopal said that the accused has been identified as Nirmal, a resident of Gorsian Peeran village.

IO said the accused was selling betting slips at Kot Badal Khan bus stand and cheating customers by making false promises, and Rs. 3120 was recovered from his possession.

A case under section 13A-3-67of the Punjab Gambling Act and section 318(cheating) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
