Mother-daughter duo booked for cheating

NAKODAR 27 SEPTEMBER 

The Nakodar City police have booked a mother-daughter duo for cheating.

Investigating Officer (IO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kajal, wife of Mangal Sain, a resident of Ward No. 14, Guru Nanak Pura, Nakodar, and her daughter Upasana.

Mandeep Kaur a resident of Mohalla Santokh Pura, Jalandhar, complained to the police that Upasna applied for renewal of her passport, claiming herself as a virgin whereas she was married.

IO said a case under section 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
