Three booked for cheating, fraud, criminal conspiracy

 The Shahkot police have booked three persons on charges of cheating, fraud and criminal conspiracy.

Investigating officer (IO) Parwindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Jarnail Singh son of Kehar Singh, Sukhwindar Singh son of Arurr Singh Nambardar and Lovpreet Singh son of Rachhpal Singh residents of Bahmania village.

Bhajan Singh a resident of the same village complained to the Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of Police that Jarnail Singh got prepared his first passport in 2001, went abroad and prepared a new passport with the name of Karanil Singh son of Kehar Singh and Nambardar Sukhwindar Singh and Love Preet Singh attested his identity.

IO said that SSP ordered an inquiry and sought the opinion of DA (legal), who recommended registration of a case.

IO said that a case under sections 420(cheating), 465, 467, 468, 471 (fraud) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and section 12 of the Indian Passport Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.
