Woman travel agent among two PO’s arrested  

LOHIAN KHAS 25 APRIL 

The Lohan Khas police have arrested a woman travel agent proclaimed offender (PO) for duping a woman of Rs.18 lakhs on the pretext of sending her abroad.

Station House Officer (SHO) Gopal Krishan said that the accused has been identified as Deeksha Thakur, wife of Vikas Thakur son of Kashmir Singh a resident of Har Gobind Nagar Jalandhar,

Harpreet Kaur wife of Hardip Singh a resident of Gidarr Pindi village had complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (ssp) that she paid Rs 18 lakhs to the accused for facilitating her migration to Canada, but she was not sent abroad nor returned the money. SHO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating) , and 120-B(criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused on February23 2024 and was declared a PO on April 15, 2025.

SHO said the police also arrested another travel agent PO Dilbag Singh son of Partap Singh a resident of Jang village under Lakheke Behram police station in Feroze Pur who was booked on February 12, 2019, and was declared a PO on February 2, 2026
