Four arrested for murder bid, firing

The Lohian Khas police have arrested four miscreants on the charge of attempt to murder and firing

Investigating Officer (IO) Harwindar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Sukhdev Singh son of Makhann Singh a resident of Mundi Cholian village, his brother Harpreet Singh, Kalu son of Kewal Singh a resident of Nahl village and his brother Nikka .

Navjot Singh, a resident of Mundi Chohlian village, complained to the police that he was going to Lohian Khas in his car with his friends on the night of March 23 for a medical consultation.

The complainant said that when crossing Chitti Vein, he saw three accused with covered faces on the left side of the road and two accused on the right side.

He said that one of the accused standing on the left side came in front of his vehicle and opened fire with shots from his pistol, targeting him, and he saved himself somehow and said that the accused fired at him with the intention to kill, adding that some of them had waylaid and assaulted him on March 16.

Investigating Officer said a case under sections 109 (attempt to murder), 126(2) (wrongful restraint) of the BNS and sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused and their three unidentified accomplices.
