Unidentified booked for illegal sand mining

SHAHKOT 20 MAY

 The Shahkot police have booked unidentified persons for illegal sand mining.

Investigating Officer Sukhwindar Singh said that the police have received a complaint from mining officer Sahil Rampal against unidentified persons who were indulging in illegal sand mining near Chak Bahmania village and impounded a JCB machine from the spot.   A case under Section 21 of the Mines Act and Section 303(2) (theft) of the BNS has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is on.
