Home guard’s volunteers appeal to CM for free travel vouchers

NAKODAR/SHAHKOT/NURMAHAL 15  FEBRUARY

Punjab Home Guards volunteers have appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann  Singh to direct the finance department to issue a notification to implement the government decision to issue vouchers to them for free travel in roadway buses. They said that the state government, at a meeting of ministers in December 2011, had approved recommendations of the cabinet committee to offer free bus travel facilities to Home Guard volunteers in roadway buses.

 The Director General Office (home guards) had said that the finance department had refused to issue the requisite notification.
