Woman travel agent arrested for duping villager of Rs 5.60 lakh.

NAKODAR 19 MARCH 

 The Mehat Pur police have arrested a woman travel agent for duping a villager of Rs.5.60 lakhs on the pretext of sending his son abroad.

Investigating Officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused has been identified as Satish Kumari wife of Buta Ram a resident of Taj Pur village under Lambarra police station.

Baldev Masih a resident of Aadramann village under Mehat Pur police station, had complained to the Jalandhar(rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that he paid Rs 5 .60 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his son’s migration abroad, but he was not sent abroad nor returned the money.

IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Agents Professional   Act was registered against the accused.
