Woman gangster arrested for extortion

SHAHKOT 15 SEPTEMBER

The Shahkot police have booked a woman gangster on charges of extortion.

Investigating Officer (IO) Angrej Singh said that the accused has been identified as Harprit Kaur wife of Mohindar Singh a resident of Lohara Sukha village under Sadar Jamsher police station in Jalandhar.

IO said that Paramjit Kaur, wife of Jatindar Singh a resident of Pati Laksian,Malsian village, had complained to the police that the accused and her accomplices had threatened to kill her on the phone and demanded ransom money

IO said a case under section 308(5) (extortion by putting a person in fear of death) of the BNS was registered against the accused.
