Woman gangster booked for extortion

SHAHKOT 31 AUGUST 

The Shahkot police have booked a woman gangster on charges of extortion.

Investigating Officer (IO) Bagicha Singh said that the accused has been identified as Harprit Kaur wife of Mohindar Singh a resident of Lohara village in Jalandhar.

IO said that Paramjit Kaur wife of Jatindar Singh a resident of Pati Laksian ,Malsian village, complained to the police that the accused and accomplices threatened to kill her on the phone and demanded ransom money

IO said a case under section 308(5) (extortion by putting a person in fear of death) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
