Couple arrested for outraging woman’s modesty

NAKODAR 15 AUGUST 

 The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a couple on the charges of outraging a woman’s modesty

Investigating officer (IO) Jiwan Singh said that the accused have been identified as Buta Singh alias Buta a resident of Kahlwan village in Kapurthala   and is presently living in Eeda village, along with his wife, Narindar Kaur.

The victim had complained to the police that she was returning home on 27 May late in the evening on a scooter when the accused assaulted her and tore her clothes. She said the accused has waylaid Paramjit Singh who was driving a tractor trolley loaded with articles used by her on her well in a religious function

IO said that a case under sections 74 (criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty),76(use of criminal force to a woman with intent to disrobe) and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the BNS   was registered against the accused.
