Husband booked in dowry harassment case

The Lohian Khas police have booked Rahul son of Rachpal Singh a resident of Aujla Crossing Street Kapurthala in a dowry harassment case.

Manjit Kaur, daughter of Nirmal Singh a resident of Lohian Khas had filed a complaint with the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband and his family had been harassing her and demanding more dowry since her marriage.

Investigating Officer Kashmir Singh said a case under section 85 (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the BNS has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
