Mehat Pur villager arrested for violating Govt order

NAKODAR 22 JULY 

The Nakodar City police have arrested a villager on charges of violating government order.

Investigating Officer (IO) Sukhdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Jatindar Tapper alias Sanju, son of Gurnam Singh, a resident of Mandiala village under Mehat Pur police station.

IO said the police have received information that the accused was selling Pregabalin capsules in Nakodar City, which is classified as a Schedule H1 prescription drug in India, meaning it cannot be sold legally without a valid prescription from a Registered Medical Practitioner.

IO said that in Jalandhar, you can purchase it at authorized local medical stores or pharmacies upon presenting a doctor’s prescription.

IO said that 300 Pregabalin capsules were recovered from his possession and a case under section 223 (disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a competent authority) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
