Two members of daughter in-law’s family arrested for abetting suicide

SHAHKOT 2 JULY 

The Shahkot police have arrested two members of a daughter in-law’s family on the charge of abetting suicide of retired police officer.

Station House Officer (SHO) Aman Sainni said the accused have been identified as, Baljindar Singh Kand former Sarpanch of Kang Wale Bille village under Mehat Pur police station, Subeg Singh a resident of Dharmi Wal village under Shahkot police station,

Kulwant Kaur wife of Harbhajan Singh a resident of Kania Kalan village had complained to the police that her daughter in law Navdeep Kaur, who was married to her son Amarpreet Singh, and her parents and relatives harassed her husband (retired police officer) and forced him to end his life by consuming sulphas and died on way to hospital.

SHO said a case under sections 108 (abetment of suicide) of the BNS was registered against the accused and eight others.
