Brother sister duo travel agents booked for trafficking, cheating  

NAKODAR 28 JUNE 

The Mehat Pur police have booked a brother -sister travel agents’ duo on charges of trafficking and cheating.

Investigating officer (IO) Janak Raj said that the accused have been identified as Happy son of Tarsem Singh a resident of Aadramaan village and his sister Puja.

Manni a resident of Mallowal village complained to the police that the accused sent his daughter Sunita abroad and defrauded and cheated him and accused Puja sold his daughter to an Omani family for 700 Rials and threatened him with dire consequences

IO said a case under sections 143 (trafficking of person) 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the BNS) and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Registration Act 2014 has been registered against the accused and further investigations are on.
