In-laws’ Couple arrested in dowry harassment case

NAKODAR 5 APRIL 

 The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested Santokh Singh   a resident of Nur Pur Chatha village , and his wife Kulveer Kaur in a dowry harassment case.

Complainant Amandeep Kaur, a resident of Pasla village under Nurmahal police station, had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband Sanpreet Singh, father –in-law Santokh Singh, and mother-in-law Kulveer Kaur had been harassing her, demanding more dowry, and had thrown her out of the house and threatened her with dire consequences.

The investigating officer    said a case under Sections 85-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty)316(2) (breach of trust )61(2) criminal conspiracy) 351(1,2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS has been registered against the accused and their son.
