Couple arrested in dowry harassment case
SHAHKOT 22 MARCH 

The Shahkot police have arrested Surjit Singh   a resident of Vadali Dogran village under Jandiala Guru police station in Amritsar, and his wife Rupinder Kaur in a dowry harassment case.

Complainant Parjindar Kaur, a resident of Narang Pur village had filed a complaint to senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband, father –in-law, and mother in-law and had been harassing her demanding more dowry.

Investigating Officer Major Singh   said a case under Sections 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 34 (committing crime with common intention) of the IPC and section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 was registered against the accused.
