Villager arrested for gambling

NAKODAR 21 MARCH

 The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager on charges of gambling.

Investigating officer (IO)Davindar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Surat Singh alias Surti, a resident of Rai Pur Arayian village.

IO said the accused was selling betting slips at Umrewal Billa village Morr and cheating customers by making false promises, and Rs. 2570 was recovered from his possession and impounded his car (PB-08-EW-1344).

A case under section 13A-3-67of the Punjab Gambling Act and section 318(cheating) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
