Paddy procurement less than last year in Bilga

NURMAHAL 17 NOVEMBER

The total purchase of paddy by the state government and private agencies from farmers has crossed 5,11093 lakhs quintals under the jurisdiction of the Bilga market committee on November 14, which is less by 20 percent of the purchase last year on this date.

Committee secretary Sukhjinder Singh said we are expecting few percent more purchases of paddy this season and may not achieve the target of 5,68,396 lakhs of quintals purchased last year. He said this is due to a fall in yield per acre for various reasons.
