Gurdas Pur miscreant arrested for attempt to murder, firing.

NAKODAR 11 JULY 

The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a miscreant on charges of attempted murder and firing.

Investigating officer (IO) Gurnam  Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurmit  Singh, alias Saabi, son of Lakhvinder  Singh, a resident of Kalanour in Gurdaspur.

Kuldeep Singh a resident of Sahem village had complained to the police that he was returning home from his poultry farm on his motorcycle on January 1 evening when the accused waylaid him near Balbir Sangh’s motor and snatched Rs 2000 from his pocket and fired at him from a pistol, but he escaped unhurt and then attacked him with sharp-edged weapons with intention to kill and seriously injured him.

IO said that a case under sections 307(attempt to murder), 115,(offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life ) 326(voluntarily causing grievous hurt )379-B (snatching),120-B(criminal conspiracy ) 34 (committing a crime with common intention) of the IPC, and sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused, who was declared a proclaimed offender by a court.
