Ten members of daughter in-law’s family booked for abetting suicide

The Shahkot police have booked ten members of a daughter in-law’s family on the charge of abetting suicide of retired police officer.

Station House Officer (SHO) Dilbag Singh said the accused have been identified as  Rachhpal Singh a resident of Paniarr , Dina Nagar , Gurdas Pur ,his  daughter Navdeep Kaur(daughter in law of the deceased ) ,  his  brother Jagpal Singh and Jagjit Singh of Athwal Ghumann Kalan Gurdas Pur ,Baljindar Singh Kand former Sarpanch of Kang Wale Bille village under Mehat Pur police station ,Subeg Singh a resident of Dharmi Wal village under Shahkot police station ,Bhupidar Singh  living in New Zealand, Sarabjit Singh of Panniarr living in  New Zealand  ,his wife Bridarjit Kaur and Gopi living in New Zealand.

Kulwant Kaur wife of Harbhajan Singh a resident of Kania Kalan village complained to the police that her daughter in law Navdeep Kaur , who was married to  her son Amarpreet Singh,  and her parents and relatives harassed her husband  (retired police officer) and forced him to end his life by consuming sulphas and died on way to hospital.

SHO said a case under sections 108 (abetment of suicide) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
