One arrested for murder bid, firing  

NAKODAR 30 MARCH 

The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager on   charges of attempting to murder and firing.

Investigating officer (IO) Davindar Singh   said that the accused has been identified as Dilbag Singh son of Jogindar Singh a resident of Vehran village,

Gurpreet Singh a resident of Vehran village had complained to the police that the accused waylaid him and fired at him with intention to kill and barged into his house and attacked him with sharp edged weapons   and seriously injured and threatened him with dire consequences.

IO said that a case under sections 109(attempt to murder)351(2) (criminal intimidation 333(housebreaking after preparation for hurt, assault) 324(4) (mischief) and 191(3) and 190 rioting) of the BNS and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act   was registered against the accused and his thirteen accomplices. IO said an empty cartridge and two live cartridges were recovered from the spot.
