PO arrested for breach of trust, cheating

SHAHKOT 18 MARCH 

The Shahkot police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) on charges of breach of trust and cheating.

The investigating officer (IO), Jagtar Singh, said that the accused has been identified as Hanni Kundi, son of Sham Lal, a resident of Mohalla Sundar Nagar, Nakodar.

Payal Sood, daughter of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Pati Akal Pur, Malsian, had a village complained to the Jalandhar (rural) senior superintendent of police that the accused had duped her of Rs 2.15 Lakhs on the pretext of procuring a job for her at the Punjab National Bank branch.

IO said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 420(cheating) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against the accused on October 16 2022 and was declared PO on September 22, 2023.
