Paddy procurement less than last year in Nakodar

NAKODAR 14 NOVEMBER

The total purchase of paddy by the state government and private agencies from farmers have crossed 9,04545 lakhs quintals under the jurisdiction of the Nakodar market committee on November 13, which is less by 25 percent of the purchase last year on this date.

Committee secretary Guresh Sehgal said we are expecting a few percent more purchases of paddy this season and may not achieve the targets of 11.99732 lakhs quintals purchased last year. He said this is due to the fall in yield per acre due to various reasons.
