Gangster arrested for extortion

The Lohian Khas police have arrested a gangster on the charge of extortion.

Station House Officer (SHO) Labh Singh said that the accused has been identified as Anmol Preet  Singh alias Mola, son of Nishan Singh, a resident of Yusaf Pur Aalewal village.

The victim had complained to the police that the accused and his accomplice had made two WhatsApp calls from different numbers on his phone number and demanded Rs 50 Lakhs as ransom money.

SHO said a case under section 308(5) (extortion)) of the B.N.S. was registered against the accused on November 11, 2024.
