Husband booked for dowry harassment

 The Mehat Pur police have booked Sukhvinder  Singh, a resident of Naurang Ke Leli village in Feroze Pur in a dowry harassment case. Complainant Balvinder, a resident of Rai Pur Ariyan village, who was married to Sukhvinder  Singh, had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her husband had been harassing her and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage and established illicit relations with another woman and threatened him with dire consequences. Investigating Officer Davinder Singh said a case under Section 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 406 (breach of trust) and 506(criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
