Info panel summons PIO of Director Information, Public Relations.

 The state Information Commission has directed the public information officer (PIO) and the first appeal authority (FAA) of the Director Information and Public Relations Punjab to appear before Information Commissioner Amrit Partap Singh Sekhon over the denial of information under the RTI Act.

The commission directed the PIO to appear before it at 12 p.m. on December 22

 Dilbag Singh a resident of Baina Pur village had filed an application and appeal with the public information officer and first appeal authority of the director information and public relations department seeking names of accredited correspondents of various newspapers at Jalandhar and details of documents submitted by the applicants’ correspondents for securing accreditation.

After failing to receive the information within the stipulated period of 30 days, singh first appealed to the first appeal authority of the director of information and public relations and then moved the commission.
