Father-son duo arrested for assaulting co-villager.

NAKODAR 26 JUNE 

 The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a father-son duo on the charge of assaulting a co-villager.

Investigating officer (IO)Jagtar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Kulwant  Singh, son of Surinder Singh, a resident of Tahli village, and his son  Manjindar Singh.

 Harpreet Singh, a resident of the same village,  had complained to the police that the accused waylaid him on June 17 and attacked him with sharp weapons, seriously injuring him on June 17, and threatened him with dire consequences.  He said a land dispute is the reason behind the attack, and a court case is pending, and the two accused are his cousins, who want to encroach on his land.  He had said the accused also stole his gold chain, which fell on the ground during the attack.

IO said that a case under sections 115(2) 118(1) 4(voluntarily causing grievous hurt) 351(2(criminal intimidation) 126(2)(wrongful restraint), 190(3)(rioting armed with deadly weapons ), and 191(unlawful assembly) of the BNS  was registered against the accused and others including women.
