Twenty-eight booked for outraging modesty of woman

The Mehat Pur police have booked twenty-eight miscreants on the charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and snatching.

Investigating officer (IO) Niranjan Singh said that the accused has been identified as Kulwindar Singh, son of Jeet Singh, a resident of Maheru village, his son Bhinda, Abhi, Lovpreet, Vishal, Jagdev, Robi, and Happy, all residents of the same village, and their twenty unidentified accomplices.

Surindar Kaur (45), wife of Jaskaran Singh, a resident of the same village, complained to the police that the accused assaulted, threatened, and outraged her modesty and snatched her gold chain.

IO said that a case under section 76(3) (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to disrobe,)304(2)(snatching ), 115(2) voluntarily causing hurt ), 351(2)(criminal conspiracy)191(3) (rioting ) and 190(unlawful assembly) of the BNS was registered against the accused.
