Wheat procurement misses target in Mehatpur

NAKODAR  12 MAY 

 The total purchase of wheat grain by the state government agencies from farmers reached 3 lakh 46856 quintals this year, less than the fixed target of 3 lakh 80704 quintals in grain markets under the jurisdiction of the Mehatpur market committee.

Committee Supervisor Dalvir Singh said this is due to farmers cultivating the wheat crop less than last year, and a low yield per acre.
