Migrant arrested for kidnapping minors; 3 missing children united with families

JALANDHAR 23 APRIL 

Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has arrested a migrant on the charge of kidnapping children   and rescued three minor girls.

Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, said that the accused have been identified as Rajesh Pandey, son of Triveni, a resident of Para village in Uttar Pradesh.

She said a case under section 127(6) (wrongful confinement in secret) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Division No. 8, Jalandhar following a complaint that a 9-year-old girl had been kidnapped by a man.  The Police team successfully recovered the kidnapped 9-year-old girl along with two other minor girls from Kapurthala.

She further said that following the medical examination, sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act were added to the FIR. The rescued children have been handed over to their families. The accused was produced in a court and remanded to three-day police custody for further investigation.
