SFJ chief G. Singh. Pannu booked for threatening Dalit leader

The Bilga police have booked Sikhs for Justice Chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannu on the charge of threatening a Dalit leader.

Avtar Singh Karim Puri a Dalit leader and resident of Mahal Pur village in Hoshiar Pur complained to the police that the accused vandalized glass around the statute of Dr,B.R.Ambedkar in Nagal village near Phillaur  and  in scripted  “Sikhs Are Not Hindus” and “Trump Zindabad” slogans   on the glass.

 Karimpuri said SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannu had took responsibility for the defacement and criticised Dr Ambedkar for contributing to the erasure of Sikh identity through his role in drafting the Indian Constitution

Karimpuri said in his complaint said the accused Pannu is now threatening him with dire consequences

Station House Officer Palwindar Singh said a case under section 196 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, caste ) and  113(terrorist Act) of the BNS  has been registered against the accused Pannu .
